A long promised post about Abbot Kinney, Venice’s new hip street filled with stores and places to nibble.
It’s funny how 10 years ago few people dared to be seen in that area and now all of a sudden it’s the place to be.
So let’s get to the point, what makes Abbot Kinney so hip?
Amazing Restaurants, Bars and one of a kind shops.
Back in the day Abbot Kinney was known for only having non-chain shops, to this day it pretty much stayed this way with a few exceptions, like Rag & Bone and Iro who both are sneaking their way in this summer.
It’s one of the best places for shopping anything vintage or unique pieces.
Now my favorite part the restaurants and bars!
There are quite a few coming going but a few which still years after they've opened still need to be booked in advance. I'm talking about places like Gjelina and the Tasting Kitchen, believe me the wait is totally worth it!
Come around Happy Hour and a place like Le Zinque is packed with people.
There are so many more places on this street it's crazy, to view all the places just check them all out on Abbot Kinney's own website here.
For those of you who are totally into the food truck craze, every first friday of the month Abbot Kinney turns into food truck heaven – along the entire street there is one truck after the other with hungry customers queuing for a bite. It's also a fun experience if you're not that hungry, there are tons of things going on that night.
